Ragini’s brief Biography - Passion for Arts

Ragini’s journey of over 40 years in arts, paintings and textile designing began at home. Her father, a senior journalist and art connoisseur encouraged her to pursue fine arts during school days at St. Thomas', New Delhi. Even English literature studies at Miranda House, Delhi University couldn’t keep her away from the passion of painting in water colours and oils. Some of her early paintings adorn the drawing rooms and offices in England, USA, India and other countries.

Her passion for painting continued for decades. She would burn midnight oil often to produce some masterpieces of Madhubani, Indian miniatures, oil on canvas paintings and children's educational/ instructional books.Being a professionally trained Textile designer, she volunteered to guide many talented designers at well-known Institutes of Fashion Technologies. She helped organise many art exhibitions and Fashion shows displaying hers and creative work of her students.She was closely associated with setting up of Arts Studios/Workshops for NGOs, especially skilling women and help them earn their livelihood.

Passion of arts took her to the best galleries and museums across the World. She was a regular visitor to Royal Academy of Arts in London, UK and she travelled to the Louvre in Paris, France, State Hermitage, St. Petersburg and Winter Palace Museum in Russia, Sydney, Australia to Lake District in UK to visit places of famous poets/ writers like William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix PotterHer other passion was poetry and composed both in Hindi and English regularly. These were highly appreciated in the Poetry clubs and on Facebook, StyleMantra Group posts.

Love of food made her hit her well equipped kitchen often and try out new recipes to share with thousands of her foodie admirers.

Ragini was married for 45 years and lived in New-Delhi. She was a proud mother of journalist daughter and grand-mother of talented & budding painter girl.
